Job Description

Job Title: Union Payroll Specialist Must Have Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Vista View Point is a plus. + Familiarity with the TRACK Swipe system for timekeeping. + Union Payroll Experience + Experience with processing overtime and double-time payroll. + Experience with overrides. Job Description The Union Payroll Specialist will collaborate closely with on-site Project Managers to ensure that union hours are accurately recorded and timesheets are submitted on time. This role is essential for organizing, summarizing, and reviewing timesheets daily, ensuring seamless payroll operations. Responsibilities + Organize, summarize, and review timesheets daily. + Enter timesheets daily and verify that entered hours match the timesheets. + Review and update union and class information based on job number and jurisdiction. + Communicate employee payroll-related inquiries to the payroll department. + Coordinate efforts between payroll and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data. + Administer the electronic timekeeping system by setting up employees, monitoring submissions of approved timesheets, and ensuring valid data transfers to/from the payroll service. + Establish and maintain employee records, ensuring timely and correct entry of employee changes, and review changes for proper authorization and compliance with company policy and regulations. + Provide management with weekly payroll reports. Essential Skills + Experience with payroll processing, especially union payroll. + Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables. + Handling weekly payroll for at least 250 employees. + Understanding of cost codes. + Experience with multi-union payroll. + Knowledge of union agreements and adaptability to changes. Work Environment This position is based at the corporate headquarters in Crown Point, Indiana, operating from 7 am to 3:30 pm, aligning with union schedules. After 30-60 days, the role will transition on-site to Gary, IN. The office environment consists of a tight-knit community of 12 people. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Crown Point, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
