Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Sales Associate to join Olympia's locally owned pet store! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pet nutrition, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for helping pet owners make informed choices for their furry companions. The Sales Associate will play a vital role in providing top-notch assistance to customers, identifying their pets' needs, and guiding them to the right products. Responsibilities: • Product Knowledge: Possess a deep understanding of our range of pet nutrition products, supplies, and grooming services to effectively assist customers in making informed decisions • Customer Service Excellence: Provide outstanding customer service by greeting, assisting, and engaging customers in a friendly and approachable manner. Address customer inquiries, provide recommendations, and offer solutions that align with their pets' requirements • Nutritional Expertise: Leverage a minimum of 1 year of experience in pet nutrition to offer expert advice on dietary requirements, ingredients, and portion control for dogs and cats • Product Recommendations: Assist customers in identifying the specific needs of their pets and recommending suitable products to fulfill those needs, fostering customer loyalty and trust • Clear Communication: Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure seamless operations. Communicate product insights, inventory updates, and customer feedback to the team • Cashier Duties: Utilize your 1 year of cashier experience to efficiently process transactions, handle payments, and maintain accurate records of sales • Store Maintenance: Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the store, including stocking shelves, arranging displays, and maintaining a visually appealing environment • Grooming Support: Provide information about grooming services and assist customers in scheduling appointments for their pets • Weekend Availability: Be available to work on weekends to accommodate customer needs and contribute to a well-rounded team schedule Qualifications: • Minimum 1 year of experience in pet nutrition, demonstrating a strong understanding of the dietary needs of dogs and cats - not required but preferred • 1 year of cashier experience, highlighting proficiency in handling transactions and maintaining accurate records -not required but preferred • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage and build rapport with diverse customers • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members and customer interactions • Passion for pets and their well-being, coupled with a genuine interest in helping pet owners make informed decisions • Availability to work weekends, with flexible options for both full-time and part-time schedules About Company: Founded in 2006, Animology embodies the essence of passion, dedication, and familial warmth.
