PARK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – DESERT FIELD DIVISION / GREAT BASIN DISTRICT / HUNGRY VALLEY STATE VEHICULAR RECREATION AREA

The reporting location for this position is the Hungry Valley SVRA, 47000 Hungry Valley Road in Gorman, CA. This position will work under the general direction of Park Maintenance Chief I. 

The incumbent's work schedule will be Wednesday to Saturday from 6:00am to 4:30pm.

The primary responsibilities for this position are the direct supervision of the facility maintenance and housekeeping crew for the Hungry Valley SVRA. This position will serve as the maintenance program supervisor and crew leader for the Hungry Valley Sector. This position is responsible for budgeting, project development and oversight, fleet administration, facility maintenance, hazmat, AB 75, injury prevention coordination, computer technologies coordinator and equipment management.  Employees who work to support State Vehicle Recreation Areas (SVRA) utilize the OHV Trust Fund and are responsible for appropriate use of the fund and to help ensure program transparency, accountability, and compliance (TAC) goals are met.

This position requ ires the p ossession of a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961 , this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962 .

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Working Conditions

Typical work activities involve prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting. Works inside and outside in varying temperatures, may have extensive exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. May work in remote locations as well.
