Job Description

Summary

The West River Montessori School is currently seeking a full-time or part-time early childhood educator to assist in our preschool room. Applicants must maintain a clean, safe and nurturing environment while having the ability to exercise patience, proficient written and verbal communication and have enthusiasm for working with children ages 3-5 years of age. Must be able to collaborate with other colleagues to plan and implement curriculum as well as excel in communication and interpersonal skills while assisting with child drop off and pick up.

Duties

- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans for preschool children
- Create a positive and nurturing learning environment for students
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators
- Provide literacy education through storytelling, reading, and writing activities
- Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development in young children
- Manage classroom behavior and promote a positive classroom culture
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special needs
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience

Requirements

-Experience working with preschool-aged students
-Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
-Passion for educating young children and promoting their growth
-Patient and reliable
-Organizational and communication skills
-A love for children
-Energetic and positive personality
-Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to follow strenuous activities like hiking, crouching or carrying children)

Nice To Haves

Associates in Early Childhood Education (or 21 college credit hours) and at least 1 year experience working with children.
