Job Description

Providence Staffing’s education client is seeking a School Custodian in the Greater Birmingham, AL area. The typical schedule for this position will be during normal school hours Monday-Friday throughout the school year.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform assigned cleaning and other custodial care tasks for the school district that are on schedule provided by the designated supervisor.
• Utilize appropriate chemicals, supplies, and equipment, which have been approved for use according to the school district’s policies and procedures, to perform assigned custodial care tasks.
• Maintain custodial care tools and equipment in a clean, sanitary, and safe working condition according to instructions and guidelines of the school district.
• Open and secure assigned facilities or grounds areas at the time (s) instructed by the supervisor.
• Maintain appropriate, positive, and cooperative working relationships with team members, assigned facility staff, and other district employees in all work related interactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of custodial experience.
• Reliable transportation.
• Physically able to stand, walk, negotiate stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch etc. to perform the assigned tasks.
• Effective communication
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.

Compensation:

The compensation range for this position starts at $15 per hour. This is a temp-to-perm position.
