Job Description

Construction Trade Laborer Location Howell, MI :

Job Responsibilities (to include, but limited to):

  • Load and unload tools from the work trailer.
  • Check & fill generator and compressor w/ oil and gas as needed.
  • Carry lumber from the delivery site to work areas.
  • Use nail and screw guns to secure lumber on the floor, walls, and roof.
  • Cut lumber for carpenters
  • Assist and learn from experienced carpenters.
  • Work as a laborer while learning.

Job Requirements:

  • No experience necessary
  • Willingness to learn a Skilled Trade
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle
  • Read a tape measure
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Normal Work Days and Hours:

  • Summer (May-Oct): Monday - Friday 7 am - 4:30 pm
  • Winter (Nov-Apr): Monday - Friday 8 am - 4:30
  • Hours over 40 (Overtime) are paid week worked not banked

Pay Based on Experience and Performance :

  • No experience starting pay is $17 per hr

Summary

As a Rough Carpentry Laborer/Apprentice, you will embark on a hands-on journey in the construction industry, focusing on developing essential carpentry skills. Reporting to experienced carpenters, your role will involve learning to use hand and power tools, and assisting in various carpentry tasks. No prior experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals with a high school diploma or GED who are eager to learn. Your commitment to safety and quality craftsmanship will be vital as you contribute to construction projects and gain valuable industry knowledge.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
