Help us collect signatures for an important ballot initiative! For this project, we’re working with the AARP to gather support for senior and health centers across NYC that are at the risk of closing. We’ll ask NY residents to sign support cards, and make short videos stating why senior centers matter to them. We’ll then deliver this support to the Mayor on his first day, showing NYs commitment to caring for their communities of every age.
Petitioners will canvass in busy public areas, and engage voters in one-on-one conversations, in order to gather signatures for this important ballot initiative. Canvassing is all about connecting with people face-to-face, having meaningful conversations, and inspiring them to take action on important issues. We spend our days outdoors, in public spaces to engage with community members.
This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in the following areas: Leadership, Communication & Advocacy, Community Outreach & Engagement, Campaign Work, Public Policy, and Social Enterprise.
Get paid well! Petition Circulator positions start at $25/hour . Leadership positions start at $27/hour. We offer overtime pay, paid training, sick pay, and bonuses for friend referrals.

Locations: We’ll be canvassing across New York City . We expect staff to be able to travel between a couple burroughs to find canvassing locations.
